Throwing up Diamonds in the Dominican Republic!
¿QuĂ© lo que, hermanas? (Wasup, sisters?) For the past month I have been in the Dominican Republic on a summer project for Campus Crusade for Christ. I've enjoyed learning lots of Dominican slang, experiencing a new culture and enjoying the beauty of the Caribbean! I just got back the other day and now I'm so ready to move into ADPi and see you all again!

ADPi training with the NAVY!
Hello Lovely ADPi!!
I just got home from spending a month doing training with the Navy. It was AWESOME. I got to fly planes, go on ships, shoot guns, spend a few days on a submarine (!!! it was so cool!), and learn all about the "Big" Navy. The only thing missing from the month was time with my SISTERS! Can't wait to see you all in August!
All the guys made fun of me for throwin' up the diamond in this CH-60 helicopter (that hopefully I'll be flying someday!), but I just HAD to rep our beloved ADPi!
SOOOO much Pi Love,
Peggy

ADPi invades Australia!!
Soo Christina and I just finished up our 2 week vay-cay in Sydney and Brisbane (aka the BEST trip EVER).
Seriously, between the busy street markets lined with incredible jewelry, yummy food and sweet souvenirs; the amazing, picturesque views from Sydney Harbour Bridge; the architectural tour of the Sydney Opera House; and the unbelievable restaurants and cafes, Sydney was just TOO wonderful--which is probably why between the two of us, we took 400 pictures in just three days! (people helping us take them were always really amused whenever we would flash our diamonds--OR when we'd tell them we were sisters haha)
And Brisbane was wondrous too! We went to a koala sanctuary one day and got to feed kangaroos and wallabies!! Ah! They were just too cute I wanted to steal one for our house! Of course nightlife was fun ;) We met people from all over--Brazil, Germany, France, Mexico and all over Australia! It was an unforgettable 2 weeks and I feel so blessed that I got to spend it with one of my lovely sisters. I hope you all are having wonderful summers. I honestly cannot wait to see you in just a couple of months!!
pi love, mates

SENIOR WEEK!
Senior Week was a success! Every year we dedicate the last week of classes to our lovely seniors. The week started off Sunday night with a limo ride to P.F. Chang’s in Pasadena. The girls chowed down on yummy Chinese food while looking back at their memories together!
Monday night the seniors all got to say their goodbyes to the whole chapter and impart their words of wisdom. It is such a bittersweet time!
Tuesday night is a favorite tradition of ours. We all gather in the foyer as the seniors “will” down their old T-shirts, costumes and their favorite ADPi stories. I know I already have a few things in mind to will when I’m a senior (my Rafiki costume from our Disney exchange)!
Wednesday night, the last night, was probably the most exciting though. The night started off with a slideshow of the seniors that their parents helped me put together. We saw them from their baby years to their ADPi days. So cute! Then, the girls were surprised with costumes from their secret sisters who had been leaving them clues all week. The seniors dressed up in their costumes and ran to the Finger Fountain where they found their secret sis’s wearing the same costume as them! The seniors and their sis’s went on a wild fountain run all over campus. It was such a fun night that none of us will ever forget!
I cannot believe that the seniors have graduated. We will miss them all so much because each of them is such an important part of our chapter. Note to the seniors: please visit often! We expect to see you at Alumnae Tea!
Happy Summer!

Diamond Ball--What a Great Way to End the Year!
Diamond Ball! I can't think of a better way to end the school year than by celebrating it with all of our sisters and our dates at a fabulous renovated 1920s bank in Long Beach! We had so much fun dancing with our hot dates that we completely forgot that it was our last social event of the year--but no worries, Fall '10 is just around the corner and I'm thrilled to start the planning of social events for the Fall and our new pledge class!
The beginning of the night started with all of our sisters and our dates coming together in our foyer to hang out with each other until we started loading the charter buses. I couldn't wait to see the reaction on our girls' faces as we arrived to The Madison in Long Beach. We walked inside and were greeted with a gorgeous 1920s environment complete with the basement as our dance floor, which was directly next to the actual vault created in the 1920s!
It was a perfect venue to capture the sentiments of Diamond Ball. Not only were we celebrating the end of the school year but we were also congratulating our graduating seniors as it was there last social event with their sisters all together. Although it is a sad thought to think of them leaving us, we didn't let that get us down as we partied the night away.
I can't wait for the Fall semester with Semi-formal and our Winter invite--see y'all there!

Last Sunday we teamed up with UCLA Alpha Delta Pi at the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids 2010!! Me, Melanie, Arianna, Vanessa, and Jill had a great time hitting up the free sample booths for some FRAPS that were absolutely delicious!! I never knew McDonalds had such great coffee, super impressed. Once we were on a solid caffeine rush, we set off on the walk – Holly and I ran a good portion of it to get our blood pumping, it was really cold out! What’s the deal with the weather, L.A.? Looking forward to those sunny recruitment days in August =]
By the way, we also had so much fun getting to know the UCLA ADPi’s! Those girls are so sweet – we MUST plan a sisterhood bonding event with UCLA in the near future! Maybe I’ll plan a health event? A beach run with UCLA?
Speaking of health events, GET EXCITED ADPI because next semester I am planning a BUNGEE JUMPING excursion in the San Gabriel Mountains!!! Fall 2010 pledge class, you’re in for a wild ride =]

ADPi Goes to Disneyland!
Hello ADPI!
Last month, Christen, Laura, Jessica, Lauren, Andrea and I went to DISNEYLAND. Because none of us could go home to celebrate Easter with our families (or eat Kosher with them), what better way to celebrate than with some of our ADPi family?! We spent the day screaming on rides, laughing with characters and kiddies, eating churros, and having a fabulous time with our sisters!
Happy Easter! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Cooking Dinner at the Ronald McDonald House!
On Sunday, a bunch of us prepared, cooked, and served a meal at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House! Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for the families of seriously sick and injured children. We made baked mostaccioli and a salad, and brought rolls and cookies. The families were all really friendly and thankful for our help, and the kids were absolutely adorable. We stayed after the meal to color and play with some of the kids there and talk with their parents. It was both eye-opening and heartwarming, and we hope to go back again this semester!!
